What is Agent Mode
read as.mdAgent Mode is a second way into your product. Your customers ask in plain words, it happens, and generative UI draws a bespoke interface when a request calls for one. You don’t rebuild your product to get it: you brief an agent, connect it to your product’s tools, and Guuey runs it.
Every question your dashboard can’t answer in one click becomes a support ticket, a churn risk, or a conversation in someone else’s window. Agent Mode gives your customers a second way in.
How Agent Mode works
Section titled “How Agent Mode works”Under the hood, Agent Mode is an agent that Guuey hosts for you. It is built from three things you supply:
- A system prompt: describe your product, its rules and its voice, in plain words. If you can write an onboarding doc, you can brief an agent. See Getting started.
- A model: Claude by default. On the code path, the framework you pick decides the vendor: the Claude Agent SDK runs Anthropic models, the OpenAI Agents SDK runs OpenAI models, and Google ADK runs Gemini models. See Choosing a model.
- MCP tools: the agent acts through the MCP servers you connect. You can point it at a server you already run, let Guuey host yours, or run one inside the agent’s own pod. See Hosting & runtime, Tools & MCP and The MCP proxy.
You can build it in the console with no code, or keep it in your repository as guuey.json and deploy from the CLI or from CI. See CLI and Agents as code.
Guuey then runs it:
- Its own runtime. Each app runs in its own isolated pod. See Hosting & runtime, How hosting works and Security & isolation.
- Generative UI. The agent answers with working interface, not walls of text, through the open ggui protocol. See Generative UI (ggui).
- Memory. Conversation history is kept, and each signed-in user gets durable per-user storage. See State & memory.
- You watch it work. The console’s Sessions page shows every conversation, and Logs follows the running agent live. See Agents & deployments.
- It wears your brand. Define a theme in the console and the chat wears it. See Design & distribution and Theming.
Where your customers use it
Section titled “Where your customers use it”Pick the route that fits today. You can switch at any time, and the agent stays the same agent.
- A script-tag widget. One line of HTML puts a themed launcher on your site. See Install the widget.
- Inside your app, with the SDK. Mount the conversation anywhere in your own UI. This is the true in-app Agent Mode. See Embed & share, Drop-in chat UI and Build your own surface.
- A share link or Portal. Share the agent’s own page, or list it in Portal, Guuey’s app for finding agents. Nothing to install. See Embed & share and Portal.
To serve it from your own domain, see Your own domain. To sign your own users in, see Sign in your own users.
What does Agent Mode cost?
Section titled “What does Agent Mode cost?”Agent Mode costs a Guuey plan per app. Plans start at $49 a month per app, and your first app starts on a 7-day free trial. Each plan includes a monthly allowance of generations. On a paid plan, usage past the allowance is metered against the app’s own spending cap. The free trial lasts 7 days and has no overage: an app that reaches its allowance stops answering, and taking a plan brings it back. An app still without a plan when the trial ends is paused until one is chosen. In your personal workspace, a one-time $5 credit toward model usage on Guuey’s key is shared by your trial apps. An app in a team workspace gets no trial credit, so it can’t answer until you choose a plan or connect your own model key (BYOK).
The full price table, with every plan, meter and cap, is on Plans & billing. What each meter counts is explained in How billing works. Current prices always live on guuey.com/pricing.
Getting started takes you from sign-up to a live agent. To see a working agent first, the Trimly tutorial forks the open-source app behind the live salon demo.
